How Custom Works

Let's design your piece together.

Every custom piece starts with a conversation. Whether you're designing an engagement ring, reimagining a family heirloom, or creating something entirely new, I'll guide you from first sketch to finished piece.

The process

  1. Consultation. We'll talk through your vision, inspiration, and budget. Virtual consultations are 30 minutes and complimentary. In-person appointments at my downtown Houston office are 60 minutes, with a $250 consultation fee applied to your final invoice.
  2. Design deposit and stones. A $1,500 design deposit begins your project and goes toward your final price. I'll hand-select diamonds and gemstones to fit your design and budget.
  3. CAD design. You'll see a detailed 3D rendering of your piece, and we'll refine it together until it's exactly right.
  4. Crafting. Every custom piece is crafted here in Houston, Texas, in 14 or 18kt yellow, white, or rose gold. Nothing is made out of state or overseas.
  5. Your finished piece. Houston clients can pick up their piece or have it hand-delivered. Everywhere else, it ships fully insured by UPS with a signature required. It's covered by my lifetime craftsmanship warranty, and I can help you insure it through Jewelers Mutual.

Pricing and timing

  • Custom pieces start at $1,500.
  • Most pieces take 6 to 12 weeks from design approval, depending on your design and stone sourcing. Planning a proposal or a holiday gift? Start at least three months ahead.
  • December 5 is the last day to book a custom holiday piece. I can't guarantee Christmas delivery for projects booked after that.
  • Custom pieces are made just for you and are final sale.

Frequently asked

Can I use my own stones? Yes. Your stones can be set into a new design. Gold isn't melted down and reused, but I can credit its value toward your new piece. See Heirloom Redesigns.

I'm not in Houston. Can I still work with you? Yes. Virtual consultations work from anywhere, and I'll share renderings and stone options online.
